active-sydney is an on-line interactive forum for information and inspiration about social change in Sydney. It comprises the website www.active.org.au and three mailing lists.
The website has information on events, groups, how to be active and alternative news. A clever electronic calendar forms the central piece of the site, allowing anyone to add upcoming events.
Alongside the calendar, the "sydney" mailing list allows activists to share information and news about events and campaigns. For those really into social change, the mailing list can keep you up-to-the-second when the shit really hits the fan and the bulldozers are moving in.
The "sydney-calendar" comes out mostly once a week summarising upcoming events and actions. The "sydney-talk" list is an unmoderated chat list about social change events in Sydney - it also gets summaries of the news posted to the site via the open-publishing section. |
