Koolang Observatory and Space Science Centre


The Koolang Observatory and Space Science Centre is located on the border of the Central Coast and Lower Hunter, no more than two hours from most Sydney and Newcastle suburbs.

The Koolang Observatory and Space Science Centre is a public access astronomical observatory, designed and built with two purposes in mind - to make science, especially astronomy, more accessible to the general public; and to be a resource for those involved in teaching astronomy to children of all ages - K to 12.

Our on-site lessons for school children are curriculum based and our adult programs are designed for those with the interest, and who want to know more., making it a great resource for students and teachers alike.

Bookings are essential.

Hours:
  • Group bookings 7 days and nights.
  • Individuals and families Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Night shows start about an hour after sunset.
  • Starting times 8pm for 8:30 or by arrangement.
Cost: Public night shows: adults $15, concession $13, child $10; group discounts available; special prices and hours for schools (subject to change without notice).
Days: Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
