Presented by Arts & Cultural Exchange (ACE) and a team of African Australian curators, Africa Film Fest Australia is coming to Sydney Opera House and Riverside Theatre Parramatta this September 4th - 7th 2025.

Celebrate the best of African cinema through a series of Australian premiere screenings, industry talks, youth workshops, and vibrant cultural events.

A curatorial African festival showcasing international and local contemporary films from Africa and the diaspora. A project of ACE & Afro Australian curators, supported by Riverside Theatres, Screen NSW, City of Parramatta and Multicultural NSW

We're not showing films to check a box or represent a continent. We're sharing stories that matter, told by African and African diaspora filmmakers who are shaping how we see the world and each other.

These films offer more than entertainment. They carry memory, pride, resistance, humour, and hope. They remind us that identity is not one thing; it's layered, lived, and constantly evolving.

Some stories will make you laugh out loud. Others might sit with you quietly for days. All of them are invitations to listen, to witness, to understand.

We're proud of what's coming to the screen, and we want you to be part of it.
