Creatures of the Ice Age at Sydney Zoo
Sydney Zoo's Creatures of the Ice Age is now on from 26 June - 16 August 2026, transforming Western Sydney into a frozen prehistoric world filled with life-size animatronic Ice Age giants.
Creatures of the Ice Age
Families can explore a themed walk-through featuring 14 large-scale animatronic and static creatures, including Woolly Mammoths, Sabre-Tooth Tigers, Dire Wolves and more, in a highly visual, self-guided experience designed for all ages.
Beyond the trail, visitors can enjoy a range of interactive winter activities designed for families, including:
- A new immersive Snow Dome experience - a walk-through soft-play winter space for younger visitors
- A new Augmented Reality Colouring Experience, where children bring their drawings to life via iPad stations
- Snow machine moments along the pathway to enhance the winter atmosphere
Available across the full event period on weekends, with additional daily programming during NSW school holidays (6-17 July), the experience offers flexible access for families planning winter activities.
Best of all, Creatures of the Ice Age is FREE with zoo entry, making it an accessible and high-value school holiday outing.
