The Culture X Festival returns from 12-14 September 2025 with a fresh new home at Bankstown Arts Centre and an exciting three-day program of interactive music, dance, and cultural celebration.

Culture X is a community-engaged music festival that celebrates the rich cultural diversity of Western Sydney through world-class performances, immersive experiences, and boundary-pushing collaborations.

Culture X 2025 is the Festival of YOU!

Do a workshop or showcase your freestyle rap technique in 'any language' and perform at the Festival.

Festival Director Richard Petkovic says: "This year is about bringing people together to celebrate who we are as individuals, and the incredible richness we create together. Bankstown is the perfect place to showcase this vision of a contemporary multicultural Australia and a Festival that makes YOU the star."

Festival Highlights & Program :

- Friday 12 Sept, 5-8pm - Opening Night Dance Party

A free, outdoor celebration blending world music, traditional dance, and contemporary beats. This non-stop community spectacular will feature local artists, cultural dance troupes, live DJ sets and FBi legends Bare Necessities Collective inviting everyone to step into the circle and dance.

5pm Kicks off with Free African Dance Workshops and Performance. Come and learn African dance and be part of the Dance Party feature act with Afro legends Yacou Mbaye (Senegal) and Lucky Lartey (Ghana).

6pm Live DJ FlyGirl Tee with interactive pop up dance and special guest vocalists gemma ylana, Yasi T and EmCee's from Bankstown's multicultural communities and you!

7pm The Dance Party continues with the Bare Necessities Collective and Guests.

- Saturday 13 September
5pm African Drumming Workshop and Performance
Afro legends Yacou Mbaye (Senegal) and Lucky Lartey (Ghana) run you through some fun Djembe drumming patterns and create a squadron to be PART of the 'Worlds Collide in the Round' concert at 7pm. One song and lots of fun!

6pm Open Mic Cypher
ft: Izzy and RTB Crew
Multi-lingual freestyling and Performance

Hip Hop freestyle legend Izzy and the RTB Crew show off their skills and provide YOU with an opportunity to show off yours in ANY language.

Register for a spot to show the world your freestyling skills. One lucky new comer will have the chance to perform in the 'Worlds Collide in the Round' concert that same night!

7pm - Worlds Collide in the Round
Step into a high-energy, interactive night where music, dance and culture Collide, and the audience becomes part of the show. Riffs, Rhymes and Groove from Western Sydney with tons of special guests In The Round!

- Sunday 14 September
1pm Acknowledgement of Country and Smoking Ceremony
Free, Register.

2pm - Ritual Concert
A powerful and moving finale weaving music, poetry, and performance to explore identity and shared humanity. Experience Ritual, a powerful new anthology celebrating Muslim-Australian identities through poetry in concert with Persian fusion band Avaye Rood with renowned persian composer Behzad Ansari.
