Magill English Language College started with the simple belief that a college should prepare students to exceed their expectations, both academic and cultural.
English for Academic Purposes (EAP):
The Magill College EAP Program successfully prepares you for tertiary study in Australia at one of our many high quality universities and colleges. Our courses are based on the study you will do in Australian tertiary institutions, and will prepare you for:
- Research (reading, note-taking)
- Assignments (planning, writing, editing)
- Presentations (speaking, self-confidence, pronunciation)
- Lectures (listening, note-taking)
Magill College EAP students go on to study at many universities and colleges in Australia. These include:

- University of New South Wales (UNSW)
- University of Technology Sydney (UTS)
- University of Newcastle
- Technical and Further Education Colleges ( Sydney and Central Coast )

English for Communication (E4C):
The Magill College E4C Program provides you with the tools to find work and go travelling while in Australia. It includes experiences in areas of Australian culture and society which make learning relevant, fun and practical.
The course focuses on communication: real English with useful expressions, pronunciation and fluency practice, in small classes with expert teachers.
Courses run all year for up to 48 weeks and thats at 25 hours per week and a self-study program. Students have access to fast computers with free Internet access.
We offer excursions including sightseeing in Sydney, the Hunter Valley, beaches, world-class animal parks, and exciting local events. So as part of the Magill College E4C Program, you will see the Sydney Opera House, koalas, our famous surf, local art and music.
Preparation for the Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE):
This 12 week preparation course for the Cambridge First Certificate in English Exam and is designed to combine and extend the learners understanding and use of language within the framework of the Cambridge First Certificate Exam.
During the course the learner will be provided with a comprehensive guide to the format of the exam and the strategies that are required to cope with the complexities of the five papers.
This course is available to students with Intermediate level English proficiency or above.
